Father, we cry out to You, searching for answers to our many needs at this time of division, civil unrest and violence. This Country desperately needs Your hand upon every state, city, and locality being ravaged even as we pray to You now, Lord. You see the death and destruction taking place across our land in the name of “justice” — it must sadden You greatly to witness such dissent between brethren and the injustice perpetrated against fellow children of God. We need You more than ever, especially as the constant noise of this world seems to purposely drown You out.

You understand the weariness in our spirits, the heaviness in our hearts, the pain in our lives. You know the stress our Nation has endured these past few months of isolation, and the added discourse of angry people and life-threatening situations this week has caused many of us to reach a boiling point. You’ve seen countless numbers of people who have turned to negative methods rather than turning to Your Word for the release of that pent-up tension. Please, God, guide every one of us back to Scripture, seeking the forgiveness, grace, and comfort that only You can offer.

As we take time out to read Your precious Love Letter to us, we ask You to calm our uncertainties about the future, and plead with You for mercy upon us. Redirect our attention to You, our Savior and Redeemer. Remind us to depend on the promise of the Holy Spirit. And until our hearts are fully and eternally restored as we enter the gates of heaven, sustain us. Refresh us with Your presence. Renew us with Your love. It is in the power of Your Son’s Precious Name that we pray, Amen.
