The Divinity of Jesus Christ – He was both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary. He is God’s only begotten Son, the one and only Savior (Matthew 21:11; John 1:14,19:19; Romans 5:15-17; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 1:1,14; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26-28; John 1:14; 3:16; 14:6; 1 John 4:9; 2 Peter 3:18).
Jesus Christ suffered and was crucified (Luke 23:1-46), died and was buried, and rose again bodily from the dead on the third day (Luke 23:44 – 24:8; John 20:24-29; 1 Corinthians 151:3-8).
The Bible teaches that salvation (the forgiveness of sins) is only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ (Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7; 14:6).
The Bible teaches that one receives God’s grace by faith in Jesus as the Christ, repenting of one’s sins, confessing Jesus as the Christ, and being immersed into Him through water baptism (Romans 5:1-2; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19 &17:30; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9; Philippians 2:11; 1 John 4:15; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21). Read How Are We Saved? for more details.
The Holy Spirit is an active and operative part of the Godhead (Genesis 1:2 & 26-27; John 16:5-15; Acts 1 :7-8; Romans 8:26-27), and He lives within every Christian (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 2 Timothy 1:14).
The Bible teaches that the Elders are responsible for the spiritual oversight, nurturing, and protection of the congregation. All within the congregation are accountable to that Eldership as they lovingly govern from the pages of God’s Holy Word: the Bible (Acts 20:28; Philippians 1: 1; 1 Timothy 3:1 -7; Titus 1 :5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are all serving under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
At Christ’s Church of Prescott Valley, our main goals consist of:
- Proclaiming the gospel in order to reconcile people to God and to each other through Christ
- Being transformed into mature Christians through discipleship and obeying God’s Word
- Loving and forgiving one another as Jesus does
- Being a healthy, growing, joy-filled church
- Serving those who live in our community
- Glorifying God in all we say and do
“… go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey (the commandments).” (NIV)
