Our History

Before we officially named the church “Christ’s Church of Prescott Valley“, it was just a small seed… an idea presented to a few families. After much prayer and petition before the Lord, the Holy Spirit seemed to be moving us to do this work. In April of 2010, we began meeting in a home with only 15 people in attendance. Soon thereafter, the Lord provided the means by which we were offered the use of a local flooring business. For eight months we met together in the showroom floor area, growing our congregation to just under 40 people. Once again, we went to the Lord in prayer, seeking His guidance in locating a more permanent home — and, again, He provided. The first service in our new home was held on Sunday, February 6, 2011.

This is not the typical way that a church is started, but the Lord does as He chooses. We have no choice but to obey because we believe, as the Apostle Paul states in Philippians 1:6“…that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Our mission and purpose is to be a part of and carry on The Great Commission as the Lord Jesus directed His eleven disciples in Matthew 28:18-20. Our position is to uphold and carry on the doctrine of the apostles, as in the days of the early church in the book of Acts 2:42, as it relates to today’s culture. We simply call ourselves “Christians” because we belong to Jesus Christ, and not to a specific denomination, as stated in Acts 11:26 (where the disciples – or learning followers – were first called “Christians” in Antioch).
